The guiding lights

A good teacher is like the rising sun that comes to fill the empty and dark minds with the light of the education ― Anamika Mishra

From the early mornings, there shines a bright group of people filled with knowledge, passion, and encouragement, ready to bring growth into young minds and fully ignite their potentials. These are teachers, also called our second parents, who have imparted lessons and bright ideas alongside our parents. While their main role is to teach, they go above and beyond. In our early years, we may have only learned the alphabet and numbers. But as we went through the higher levels of education, we gain not only academic insights from them but also morals and life lessons. This is what makes them unforgettable in everyone’s lives; they make us feel that they are more than just teachers—they are friends, supporters, and even parents.

Not every teacher is perfect, as they are only humans with flaws that every student must understand. Teachers play a vital role in our country and the world, yet some people still underestimate them. The teachers form the foundation for each person’s educational journey to achieve their own goals and aspirations. I believe that everyone has had a teacher who changed the trajectory of their life, pushing them towards things they never thought possible.

Let us show our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to them who have touched our hearts, guided us on the right path, and left an indelible mark on our lives. As we celebrate National Teachers’ Month, let us honor their dedication and commitment in teaching.

I extend my warmest thanks to all of the teachers who have illuminated our minds with knowledge and understanding. Thank you for being the guiding light when we could not see the right path ahead. We are forever grateful for your unwavering patience, love, and kindness in guiding us. We will treasure your light forever, glowing in the hallways of our memories and illuminating our paths with eternal brightness.

Stairway to grit

Challenges in our country is inevitable. In order to face those challenges, our country needs to be more resilient. Considering the causes, responses, and challenges, definitely, our country will be better. First, our government should take action to the challenges we are facing. Not having unity is the major challenge our country needs to resolve. So, by having the government to lead properly, the people will unite and will create a strong country.

The geographic location of the Philippines is the main reason why our country is facing a challenge. Since it's located at the Pacific Ring of Fire, it is prone to natural disaster such as earthquake, volcanic eruption, and typhoons. As a result, many lives and infrastructures in our country is affected and leads to a dispirited country. In addition, the issue about the west Philippine sea is also a visible reason why our country needs to be more resilient. We shall be aware of these problems as it could bring harm to us.

In response to the challenges, our government is taking action to resolve these. There are numerous ways that our government has done in order to make our country more resilient. They have provided information in which we can use to be prepared for disasters we may experience. Our government should not only take action but also us. We must be aware of the happenings in our country, cooperate, and unite to create a tougher country. Let us make our country lead to a more resilient one and create it better for future generations.

Dear Mr. President,

I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to write a letter for you. 6 years in service as a president is truly exhausting, but I know, serving people is what makes it great. I hope, you'll continue to do better to make our country a better place to live in. Also, we are all hoping that issues, just like the West Philippine Sea and corruption will be solved.

Chronicles of me

Everyone is unique in their own ways. Shining differently just like stars. So, as I go on, the chronicles will lead into getting to know me. First of all, I am Ivone Jhanein Rabago, the first born of Ferdinand and Benijane Rabago. I was born on November 30, 2008. One interesting fact about my birthday is that, Andres Bonifacio and I are born on the same day. In addition, me and my family currently resides at Cabaroan, Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

People know me as an introvert or shy person. But for me, I'm more extrovert when I become close to people. I enjoy staying in my comfort zone but if there's an opportunity to explore outside my comfort zone, I would gladly take it. Also, I like traveling or road trips specially when I'm with my family. Speaking of family, I have a younger sister and I can say that we're the opposite. I think, one similarity of us is that we both like dogs.

Right now, I really have many future plans. One of it is to become an architect. So that, when I graduate and have a job, I could help my parents and pay off their hard work for me. I also plan to travel around the world with my family and friends. Enjoy and see the beauty of life and living it to the fullest.
